Body language of alpha males

Body language: There is something about an Alpha male that eludes men and women’s ability to ascertain what makes them so special. When reading the body language of an alpha male there are quite a few things that the man will do that gets attention not only form the woman but also the men.

Both genders can read into the body language of confidence and that is one of them key items that an alpha male will portray.

Reading the body language of an alpha male in a room

If you are reading the body language of an alpha male in a room you will notice a few things:

  • ·         The alpha male will go wherever he wants
  • ·         The alpha male will do what he wants
  • ·         The alpha male will talk to who he wants even if that person is in a relationship
  • ·         In essence the alpha male will do what he wants when he wants

It doesn’t matter where the alpha male is in the room he gets attention and it is almost magnetic because he knows that he can get away with what he wants when he wants it.  That is the alpha male.

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell shares how to read the body language of alpha males
Reading the body language of alpha males

In some instances the alpha male will use his special powers to get the attention that he needs from the men or woman that he wants to mate with.

Some people may confuse his confidence for arrogance but in some instances his arrogance is beyond his confidence. This arrogance may be seen through the eyes of contempt

Reading the body language of an alpha male in business

The alpha male will normally take the lead in many things in life and while in the business world he will do the same. You may find that he will live life by the motto of “it’s better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission” and sometimes he will cross the line and forget to ask for forgiveness.

In a room of business people the alpha male will take the best seat at the table or in the room. For the men in the room who don’t have the same type of special powers they may not say anything to the man when it comes to him doing something out of place.

The alpha male may have a natural ability to lead others or he may be ineffective but just goes with whatever because he feels that he can.

At a table he may take up more space than the other guys by spreading his arms or legs to take up more space. He may be fidgety while others talk and verbally he may just talk over the other men and woman in the room.

Whether standing or sitting you may find that the alpha male may break the unwritten laws of body language when it comes to proximity or the “Bell bubble”

You would read his body language and find confidence in his actions no matter where he is in the room or who he is with.

The alpha male may display arrogance and sit with his fingers locked behind his head and lean back in his chair while others are talking.

The alpha may seem impatient with others ideas and thoughts and tell everyone what he thinks no matter what the outcome is.

Reading body language of an alpha male in dating and relationships

There are many similarities between what an alpha male does in the business world and in the dating world:

  • ·         Taking the best seat
  • ·         Walking in front of others
  • ·         Stands and sits with a wide stance
  • ·         Holds and maintains eye contact longer than most
  • ·         Touches others freely
  • ·         Keeps his chin up
  • ·         Leaves his body open not covering vital body parts
  • ·         Has the consistent body language of confidence
  • ·         Automatically tells others what to do and yes it may come across wrong

While out on a date or in a bar the alpha male might display any of the characteristics that you may find in the business world.

The clothing of the alpha male could go a few ways. Pick up artists would say that the guy would “peacock” his clothes and or accessories as a way to get attention from others, but in most instances the alpha male would not have to do this since he would know how to get attention without gimmicks.

Body language expert Scott Sylva Bell interprets the body language of alpha males
Reading body language of alpha males to understand their nonverbal actions

You may find the clothing of an alpha male to be trendy for whatever group or association as he would be seen as one that may be a leader. It doesn’t matter if he rides a Harley and wears blue jeans and leathers or if he is in the business world and wears a 5,000 suit. Whatever group he is associated with he is the one who sets the trends of his association.

Reading the body language of alpha males can be done best at bars or clubs. You will notice how the interactions happen with those who are not alpha males almost as if it is an unwritten code. The men who are not the alphas will automatically allow the alpha to take the lead.

There are some people who do not care for the nonverbal actions of the alpha male and this could be seen as a huge turn off.

Taking the time to read the body language of others means that you must first learn the “norms” of the man or the woman by watching them to see consistent behaviors. This base lining of the body language will help you read the situation better.

Reading body language of uniforms

Reading body language: In many instances the body language of men in woman in uniforms may be seen as very specific while you are reading the person. You may be reading the body language of a man or woman in uniform that is:

  • ·         A police officer
  • ·         A guard
  • ·         Military personnel
  • ·         A service technician
  • ·         A businessman or woman in a suit
  • ·         A judge in a robe
  • ·         Or any clothing or attire that has to be earned and gives the person title or power

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell shows how to read the body language of uniforms
Reading the body language of uniforms of police, doctors, military and business women

You as the viewer have been preconditioned over time while reading the symbols and the body language of those in uniforms. In many instances their power comes from your recognition and conformity of those signs, symbols and uniforms. Their power and ability comes from your acknowledgement of what you perceive.

The body language that you may be reading may be that of confidence and in some instances aggression depending upon the situation. In some cases the confidence may be artificial and based upon belonging to a group or collective.

The confidence or aggression that you could read may be just from the man or woman earning the right to wear the uniform along with the symbolism built into parts of the clothing. This confidence, conceit or aggression can be with the men or women in any type of uniform from an expensive business suit to a police officer.

You can recognize a police or judicial officer in just about any part of the world as their clothing or uniforms are similar.

Reading body language of uniform signs

While reading the body language and signs of a uniform you will see:

  • ·         Some sort of official badge or marker showing that they are law enforcement
  • ·         A mark or insignia showing rank
  • ·         Similar haircuts or facial hair
  • ·         Some sort of device to hold people like handcuffs
  • ·         Some sort of device to deter people like a Billy club, baton or even a gun

The rank insignia may breed confidence, arrogance or even contempt for others outside of the group. For some people who are reading the body language of police officers they may say that all have an arrogance or belief of extra power because of the backing of others or because of the ability to have a gun or firearm.

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell teaches how to read the body language of uniforms signs and siganls
Reading the body language of women in uniforms

In the case of a business man or woman you would see:

  • ·         A nice suit
  • ·         Possibly a briefcase
  • ·         Some ornate jewelry or watch

While reading the body language of a uniform you will want to look for what transformational item gives to person or group their power or perceived authority, this may come from the collective group or the uniform itself. You will also want to look for the items or item where they show their power and that can be a watch briefcase or badge.

Reading the body language of confidence from a uniform

When you see a man or woman in a uniform the confidence that is common from looking at and reading their body language will cause the man or woman to:

  • ·         Stand straight up
  • ·         Walk with a smooth glide and their arms and rest of the body will have the same
  • ·         Maintain good eye contact
  • ·         Keep their chin up
  • ·         Keep their clothing clean and their shoes or boots polished
  • ·         Verbally be able to give commands so that others follow their direction

Every person wears some sort of uniform and some of those uniforms will give the person who wears them powers that have super hero characteristics. These extra superhero powers and confidence just comes from putting the uniform on.

In some instances the persuasive power of the message of the man or woman does not come from their own mouth as much as it relies upon the power of their uniform. This can be for salespeople all the way across the spectrum to police officers. In some instances it not a matter of persuasion as it is a matter of intimidation.

Reading body language of Presidential candidates Part 2

Reading Body language of Presidential candidates in the debates

Reading body language: Presidential candidates are under a magnifying glass sort of speak when it comes to their presentations at debates or even out in public.

In some instances some parts of their lives are dissected over and over again, in some instances for a few this isn’t the case. This open dissection of a Presidential Candidate puts plenty of stress on them while out on the campaign trail and with that stress comes “mistakes” for the man or woman with their body language.

Reading the body language of a presidential candidate may help you gain a better understanding of the man or woman who hopes to become The President of the United States and in some instances the revelations about the person and the body language that others are reading may just be the hopes of the person who is reading the Presidential candidate.

Reading body language of Presidential candidates and their proximity to others

Proximity to others is an important aspect of reading body language and even self-control. How close you stand or sit next to people becomes important as the message that is being delivered. Now this may not seem like a big deal but if you were under scrutiny about personal business and even political relationships previous to wanting the President it becomes more important.

When connecting with people it is important to know what distance is acceptable and what distance becomes inappropriate or even awkward.  The whole life of a political candidate may be put out for all to judge and things that may not seem significant can be beat into the dirt until they seem like they are.

When reading the body language of political candidates it is important to remember that the angle on one camera can tell a completely different story than the angle on another camera.

Proximity can show power depending upon where the person stand or sits in regards to other people and or candidates along with the ability to show weakness.

Reading body language of Presidential candidates and the “Bell Bubble”

If you were to consider the body a stage anything on the outside of 18 inches or 40 cm is really past personal space. When a Presidential candidate is within that space of another man or woman they have entered into their “Bell Bubble” Gestures outside of the 18” area away from the body may cause the Presidential candidate to lose value because they lack self-control.

When you get a chance later look into a mirror and talk with your armsn extended as far away form your body as possible and try to imagine a time where this type of nonverbal communication would be acceptable except for when you were in danger. Just move your mouth like you are talking . Now imagine for a moment that you were near a person and you were using the body language that is outside of the “Bell Bubble”, would the man or woman be comfortable?

Now just think for a second if the Presidential candidate were being viewed on television would their speech make sense if they were having a conversation and their hands or arms traveled outside of their “Bell Bubble”? It’s not a good idea to break the “Bell Bubble”.

Reading body language of Presidential candidates and lies or looking for lies

Some would say that all Presidential candidates are liars and when reading their body language they all leak deceit. Now as long as the politician follows the Law of proximity and keeps with the “Bell Bubble” and hasn’t done anything too silly in their past they must now keep away from body language signs and signals of lying.

Nonverbal signs and signals a Presidential candidate is lying

There are a few items that may help indicate that a person is lying:

  • ·         Their blink rate – possibly and not all the time
  • ·         Touching anything on their face neck or head – possibly and not all the time
  • ·         Looking the other way – possibly and not all the time
  • ·         Using their arms to distance themselves from the story or question at hand– possibly and not all the time
  • ·         Becoming flush or pale after an answer
  • ·         Biting the lips or wrapping their teeth with their lips
  • ·         Some verbal actions would be to ask the question again or when their vocal pattern changes.

Remember that when it comes to reading the body language of Presidential candidates or anyone else you must first watch them for a while to baseline them to ensure what you are accusing them of has happened. If the presidential candidate is lying it’s not an accusation anymore. Just because these signs and signals of body language are happening it does not mean there is a lie it means that there could be a lie with emphasis on the word “may”.

Body language of a Presidential hopefuls emotions

A presidential hopeful can destroy their candidacy by reacting the wrong way to a question, action or story with their emotions. Remembering that the Presidential candidate is under much scrutiny sometimes they are baited to react to situations so they can be shown as immature or something more than what they are.

  • ·         Displaying the correct emotion to be read from the crowd of citizens, constituents or clients.
  • ·         Show the verbal and body language signs of leadership throughout their “sales process” of working to become President of the United States.

The people voting for the Presidential candidate may not really understand in a deep level as to what they are seeing when reading the body language of the man or woman’s emotions or facial expressions while watching them on the debates or out on the trail but they will understand what they see and make their own observations.

The biggest questions to answer when watching and reading the body language of Presidential candidates is are they lying about what they are saying or are they reacting badly to questions or comments made towards them?

Learning how to read body language of Presidential candidates can help you understand and interpret what they body of a politician is saying.

Reading body language: While reading the body language of aspiring leaders there are a few things to remember. An effective leader is one that communicates a message effectively. On the other hand because someone is a good communicator it does not make them an effective leader.

Presidential campaigns and debates from the Democrats and the Republicans and all parties are put under scrutiny when it comes to their candidate as to the message that he or she can deliver. Reading the body language of the nominee or the contender during the debates gives a glimpse of what the man or woman would do under pressure in front of cameras if there were an accident, act of nature, war or anything else that a President may have to deal with while in office.

In some instances the reactions to the man or the woman who is hopeful of becoming president is over read and in some instances the man or the woman is set up to get a reaction that can be read into.

Reading the body language of reactions

Your body language and the interpretation comes one to one thing and that is the reaction from the other person. Looking at the law of reaction when it comes to body language and reading into the situation it is important to point out whatever you are watching and reading into only matters as to what you believe. So you think that the Presidential hopeful is closed off because he or she crosses their arms, then that is what it means.

Hope is not a strategy for the man or woman seeking the nomination to move forward in the election process.

Every good reaction in the body language that is being read by the viewer gives the man or the woman a little more confidence in the viewer’s eyes. Every blunder when it comes to the nonverbal communication of the man or the women takes a little away from their campaign for the moment or for good in some instances.

Huge key point: No matter in politics, business, relationships and even friendships people are judged on their body language reactions to incidents, questions, agreements, stories, other body language and even beliefs.

Reading body language of Presidential candidates during the debates

People want to see that their leader is strong and appears strong in public and this strength can be seen through the confidence of the leader. A confident leader has a few traits when it comes to reading their body language:

  • ·         An effective posture
  • ·         Gliding movements
  • ·         Good eye contact
  • ·         Good awareness of proximity to others
  • ·         Using the body as a stage and keeping aware of the “Bell Bubble”
  • ·         Stays away from body language signs and signals of lying or deceit
  • ·         Displaying the correct emotion to be read from the crowd of citizens, constituents or clients.

Reading the body language of confidence by a Presidential candidate during a debate

The posture of leaders or presidential hopefuls is usually that of one of a man or woman who stands straight up. Their chin is not too far up as to seem arrogant but not low enough to seem depressed. This posture helps the person watching or viewing the ability to determine the leader or Presidential candidate understands the situation and has control over what is going on behind the scenes.

The lack of a good posture in a moment of presenting may show the signs and signals of weakness or defeat.

The debates allows for the viewer to decide who would be best to run the country based upon what they see and hear from the Presidential candidate and this includes what body language that is read into by the viewer especially that of confidence.

Reading body language of Presidential candidate movements

When a Presidential candidate being whether a man or woman have confidence their body language shows the signs of it. A confident Presidential candidate will have a glide to their actions, they will not seem jerky and on the other hand they will not seem too fast. The body language of a strong Presidential candidate will be smooth and that smoothness will convey confidence even in the face of a difficult or bad question about something they have done in the past.

If a video clip is replayed of the Presidential candidate at the debate and their words do not go over well the visual signs of the man or woman being confident may be enough to sway a voter because they were able to connect a good emotion with the sight of the candidate showing confidence through difficult times.

Think about the times where you have seen what is going on with the show on television and could not hear the words but you were able to interpret or even possibly understand the situation because you were able to pick up on the nonverbal cues of the people in the show.

On the other hand you may have seen a show and the body language of a guest you were reading led you to believe that the person on the show was having difficulties with what was either being said or what was being done. Nonverbal actions may be able to make up for verbal mistakes in some instances.

Reading body language of eye contact from Presidential candidates

Presidential candidates who have and maintain good eye contact from those who are viewing their debates may be seen as more Presidential by those reading their body language because there may be more of a connection to the audience or the viewer.

Good eye contact can make or break a conversation or a debate for a Presidential Candidate.

Great eye contact may take someone who was not really into a Presidential candidate before the debate to a believer into what they are saying or what they propose to do. Now it is difficult to experience real eye contact from a person who is watching a debate through a television but when a Presidential candidate connects with the live audience or crown it may be conveyed through the screen and give the feeling to the television viewer of real.

If a tough question was asked during the debate of the Presidential candidate did they look away and try not to answer the question or did they tackle it head on with good eye contact like hey had nothing to hide along with showing confidence in their posture?

Did they look into the camera or at the crowd when they were asked about a tough position they have held and now want to change because of public opinion?

Think back to when you were a kid and dealing with a Mother or Father, if you didn’t give them good eye contact when they asked about something you did or were going to do did they think you were lying?

You may get that chance to decide who is the best fit for you and your beliefs while watching the Presidential Debates.

The same goes for Presidential candidates who debate from the Republican or even Democrat parties or even those from the Libertarians or Green parties.

In the next article we will discuss a few more exciting things about reading the body language of Presidential candidates while debating.

Reading body language of shoes

Reading body language: One of the most common items people look at but don’t think about until it is brought up in conversation is the condition of shoes.

For some nationalities and places in the world the type and condition of the shoes mean just about everything and determine your social status.

Clean shoes may show the signs and signals that you are conscientious about your work. Reading the body language of someone with clean or nice shoes might show that the person being read has an extra bit of confidence.

For some trust comes from the details of knowing that the person that they are working with of for pays attention to the small details.

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell describes the body language of boots and shoes
Readig body language of shoes and boots

Reading body language experiment #1

If you were going to get a custom suit made and noticed that the man or woman who was taking the measurements had shoes on that were scuffed would you think that they would be able to do the work necessary to ensure that the suit was done correctly?

Chances are that you would have a tough time believing that they would do a good job.

Now there might be a light amount of scuffing on their shoes where the shine might have been slightly marred but excessively dirty?

In service technicians and personnel it is not uncommon to find that they have not ever cleaned their shoes and think nothing of walking into your clean house, condo or apartment without even thinking about what they are tracking in.

Think of your shoes appearance this way. If you were going to be judged by a man or woman from the ground up he or she is sizing up your nonverbal communication this way:

  • ·         Shoes and what they look like and are they the right shoe for the event
  • ·         The fit of the clothing that you have on
  • ·         Your gig line (where your fly meets up with your belt and button down shirt)
  • ·         If you have any weight hanging over your belt line
  • ·         If your clothes are clean or not stained
  • ·         Your teeth and if they are clean
  • ·         Your hair
  • ·         Your body language that is being computed, calculated and the tallied into some internal mental score.

Your shoes start the chain of events for you to be judged or end the chain of events when looking form the top down and having your nonverbal communication read.

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell shows how to read the body language of pollishing boots
Reading body langugae of clean boots and shoes

It may not just be a woman that is reading your body language and nonverbal communication it could be a man that is judging you. It may not even matter what your mouth is saying or your nonverbal of what you are wearing the belief in your previous lack of attention to your attire may skew the message while reading your body language.

Reading body language of your attire and shoes

In reading the communication of your shoes it is important to note that there are a few things that you can do to help your mental score from the man or woman viewing you.

1.      Make sure that your shoes are appropriate for your industry or event

2.      Make sure that your shoes are clean and or polished

3.      If your shoes are too damaged then replace them if possible

4.      If your laces need to be replaced then do so, it will cost you less than $3.00

5.      If your shoes need to be polished then get it done or do it yourself.

As a person in business or dating there are too many other areas where you can have a tough time making an impression so why would you risk not dealing with this one small area that can be made into a huge deal and ultimately determine what the person reading your body language decides about you.

If you are in the service industry it is a good idea to clean off your shoes throughout the day and wear floor savers inside the homes of your clients (these are the medical convers that would be worn inside of hospitals).

If you are in a business setting drop by a local mall and see if there is a place where you can get your shoes shined it should not cost you more than $10.00 in most places. As an added marketing benefit you never know who you might be sitting next to where you can make a connection or with the guys or girls polishing the shoes, they know many people you may not be able to connect with through social media or in their office. Treat them good and tip them well, they will remember you after a few visits.

There is so much to look at and inter[ret to understand what the body is saying. Understanding and reading body language is a skill that really is more relevant in today’s business life than ever before.  Your advantages get smaller daily why not learn how to read body language here:

Reading body language of approaching women

Reading body language: Attempting to talk to a man or woman takes a few skills that you may not know about and they have everything to do with your reading body language and nonverbal communication skills.

If you are a man and you are about to walk up and introduce yourself to a new woman you will have to be careful to not screw this approach up…

…and yes you can make some huge mistakes when it comes to approaching a woman.

When it comes to someone especially woman reading your body language you must know that above all else women need to protect themselves from harm. You must absolutely remember this fact: Women will do what they have to so that they can be protected and if you approach the woman wrong you will get shut down.

Instantly

Reading body language of approaching a woman
Reading body language of approaching a woman the right way

Really it’s that quick?

Yes instantly,

if you break the boundary of trust of a woman before you have her trust it may never happen and you get no second chance.

So what are the best ways to approach a woman that allows them to feel safe and read your body language and or nonverbal communication?

  • ·         Always approach a woman from angles and not from behind of straight on
  • ·         Never touch an unknown woman from the back on the shoulder
  • ·         Never grab a woman to get their attention from the front side or the back (this should not have to be stated but some people out there need it)
  • ·         Interrupting a woman speaking may cause you harm
  • ·         If you hang out too long to talk to a woman you have lost value
  • ·         As an added bonus approaching a woman in a bachelorette party will not work out 99.99% of the time, especially when the woman is with their friends.

Reading body language of approaching a woman

If you are a man just for a second imagine the harm that go towards a woman and think about what happens if you startle her? If you scare a person especially a woman from the beginning you will have a tough time gaining her trust. If you scare her good luck getting her phone number, email address or even being friended on Facebook. In all realities you are going to get a fake number.

The best thing to do is to walk into a woman’s sight form an angle so that they can see you so that you do not scare or startle her. You will also want to observe her “bell bubble” and not get too close so that she can see you fully. In this approach you will also want to keep your hands visible so that she can see that you are not a threat. If you have any type of threat that is felt at also she will go into survival mode and you will get rejection instantly.

Reading body language of touching an unknown woman

Approaching a woman from behind and then touching her shoulder to get her attention may get you hurt instantly. It is not a good idea to get attention of a woman from touching her unless you have been out in the dating field for a while or have learned some tricks from Pick up artists (PUA) and even then this approach can go wrong.

Grabbing a woman will do the same thing as touching her but her danger level inside her mind will go up instantly and you will lose any ability to persuade her for contact information.

Reading the body language of interrupting a woman

Sometimes men will want to interrupt a woman to get their attention while approaching them for the first time. You will want to look for a break where she has the chance to address you.

Now PUA’s will teach you the three  second rule and that is: If you see someone that you are attracted to you should and will approach that woman within 3 seconds of seeing her or making eye contact.

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell shares how to approach a woman
Reading body language of approaching a single woman

If you have made eye contact and approach a woman it is different than just walking up and interrupting her.

Think about it for a second you had eye contact and it’s not really interrupting her if she knows you are on your way to talk to her. Now this can go either way you will be received well or you will get shut down.

There are really no other options when it comes to approaching a woman.

Approaching a woman does takes some body language skills and some reading of the situation on your part. Remember that you must think about how she sees your approach as safe or dangerous. If you approach her in a safe manner where she does not see you as a threat you will have a better chance of winning.

If you approach a woman wrong, touch her or interrupt her and your chances of getting another chance of meeting her again with positive results.

Reading body language like an expert requires you to understand and interpret the signs and signals of nonverbal communication and those skills can be gained here:

Reading body language of super hero items

YouTube Preview Image

Reading body language: When you look at the nonverbal communication that a man or woman has there are times where a viewer can see the confidence in the man or woman shine through almost like a special power.

It almost seems that the man or woman cannot be stopped…

Reading the body language of men and women can lead to many places and some interesting topics. Explaining the “Law of super hero articles” is one of those places.

Have you ever watched someone who was superstitious about their socks, pen, watch, sunglasses or any other inanimate object that the man or woman felt help them increase in whatever action they were taking part in?

So what does this inanimate object have to do with reading body language and nonverbal communication?

Everything…

It could be a suit or shoes and maybe even the makeup on a woman that builds confidence…

Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell interprets super hero articles
Body language expert Scott Sylvan Bell shares super hero articles

Reading body language of super hero articles

It may even be the object or objects that people hold or wear that may cause them to have an inordinate amount of confidence in whatever task that they are doing.

If you were asking in your mind could it be a set of golf clubs, a car or even a big fat diamond ring?

Sure

When reading the body language signs and signals of men and women you will typically find that they will have something that they use as a crutch to grant them their super hero powers for their confidence.

So you still don’t see how this would help?

Have you ever been to somewhere dressed up and all of the sudden you feel better or you go out and get a new hand bag and boom your confidence is through the roof? That confidence shows through in your nonverbal communication and your body language changes, and yes everybody can see it but they may not be able to understand or interpret why.

The body language of confidence is almost automatic and you are living the “Law of super hero articles”.

The signs and signals in your body language that others would see are:

  • ·         A smother pace with the actions of your body almost like a glide
  • ·         A faster pace with walking
  • ·         Shoulders up and possibly out
  • ·         The chin could be lifted and in some cases high enough that other people may think that it is arrogance
  • ·         A smile or smirk on the face of the confident man or woman
  • ·         Sometimes you will see in the man a swagger within his walk and or actions
  • ·         The article with super hero power may be shown off or lead off of the body

The law of super hero article says: “A man or woman will use their inanimate object to help build confidence  or draw from this article when needed to overcome an event. This article can be anything from clothing, jewelry or even accessories”.

Body langugae expert Scott Sylvan Bell shows how a watch can build confidence

When a man or woman is really using their article for super hero powers they may lead off with it. In the case of the hand bag it may be held in a strange way so that it gets attention. A watch or a ring on a man or woman could be used in a similar fashion. Sometimes after women have gone through plastic surgery they may use whatever body part that was modified to lead off with.

Of these items it may be that you get a manicure or pedicure or even a haircut frequently. For some it may even be the tattoos that they have and it can go as far as people who have had plastic surgery where the crutch holds its power of confidence.

Reading body language homework

Your body language homework is to go through your clothes and accessories to see what super hero articles that you have and write down what you think that other people are reading from you when you wear them. May a note of how you think your nonverbal communication changes. Once you have done this you will see how these super hero articles may affect other men or women and even you when you wear or possess them.

The knowledge of your super hero articles also helps you on a day where you may not have all of the confidence that you think that you should. Just remember that the extra confidence that you gain from these objects is only temporary at best and not real so it must be reloaded constantly.

For some men and women this means constant trips to the store to upgrade super hero powers and this is what some advertisers want you to feel about the product that you buy from vendors and or companies. They sell a dream or feeling with super hero powers and you buy into it.

True confidence does not come from possession of articles it comes from within.

Reading body language of leaders part 2

Reading body language: Leadership has many important facets but one of the most important is the nonverbal communication that underlies the body language of the leader.  There are times where the actions of the body while communicating will erode the message from the leader.

Reading body language of leaders part 1

Reading body language of effective leaders

At some point either our vocal words will betray us or the actions of the body will. There is however a downside and that is when people are watching you and listening have their own opinion to what your words and actions mean to them.

Reading body language of facial expressions

While watching the body language of a leader and interpreting their facial features may be the most telling and or damaging at the same time. Most people do not have the ability to hide what their face is doing. In many instances it is the hardened liar is used to keeping his or her facial features under wrap as to not give the emotion attention.

Most leaders who have spent time in front of audiences have had coaching as to what to do or not to do. Any body language coach worth their weight will help their clients learn to not use too many facial features because they may not connect with the viewer or client.

A good leader will keep their facial features blank when needed, disgusted when needed or even excited when needed. What you will find is that a well taught leader will use their facial expressions when needed and hopefully for them their body language that is being read will come across as confident.  On the other hand you may have someone who is a great leader but has not been coached as to what to do in public who can lose credibility because of their lack of training.

Reading the body language of a leaders message

Leaders know that they will at some point not only be on the end of a good message but they will also be on the receiving end of a bad message. Now there will be a mix of the posture, facial expressions and the movements of their body will either make or break the message of the leader. When a good message is delivered it is hard for the leader to ruin their fortune with body language but it can be done. When a leader gets caught up with a bad question or message you will see with some people their body language “squirm” for either a fraction of a second or even a few seconds. The leader may show in their body language:

  • ·         A new facial expression
  • ·         A deep breath
  • ·         The skin may become read or the leader may become blush
  • ·         The leader may have a body part that starts shaking
  • ·         The hands may now be used somehow to block the message or the answer
  • ·         Verbally the leader may stutter or the real answer may even be revealed and then the body language follows

When a leader has to deliver a bad message they may show the signs of sympathy, their body movements may be slower, their facial features may show sorrow or frustration and or the body language of the leader may lose the appeal of confidence (sunk in shoulders, loss of the glide in the movements of the body)

Reading the body language of reactions to questions

When reading the body language of a leader you will see that leaders who have a bad message will flinch when a tough question is asked. The nonverbal communication of the leader may or will display just as it would when either getting or giving a good or bad message.

Reading body language of leaders who lie

Usually a well-trained leader will know that a difficult question will be asked of them at the worst time and they have practiced scenarios so that their body language will not betray them. A well trained leader will also have been taught about composure when things are going well for them so that their reaction in their body language does not come across as gloating or arrogance.

Reading the body language of a leader lying

Leaders who have made the mistake of lying in public and then have been caught wish that they would not have leaked their mistakes. There are some very specific things that people do when they lie:

  •           Touch their face
  • ·         Become flush or blush
  • ·         Cover their mouths after the lie or even try to shovel the words back into their mouths
  • ·         Rub their bodies after the lie. The face, head, arms, legs or even the neck
  • ·         Look another direction than what they were looking before
  • ·         Lose composure of confidence
  • ·         The blinking rate may increase

Now any of these actions for the body language of lying may happen by themselves of a few can work together in a cluster. This “cluster of lies” becomes evident as it happens for those who can read the signs and signals of liars or the body language of liars.

Watching a leader and looking at their body language can be an eye opening experience. You may want to watch to see if they are telling the truth or if they are lying. You may want to read the body language and nonverbal communications to tell if they would make a good leader. In your judgment remember that first you must watch them and baseline their actions to see what is normal vs abnormal and to also see if they are reacting to someone else.

Learning how to read body language like an expert may be easier than you would think.

Reading body language of leaders part 1

Reading body language: Some people have it and some people fake it. How to read body language sings of a leader can help you understand who has the traits and who does not.

Sometimes people are thrust into leadership and excel at what they do and some people just cant lead their way out of a wet paper sack.

Reading body language leaders who are effective
Reading body language of leaders messages

There are a few items when reading the body language of a leader to note to scrutinize their leadership through nonverbal communication:

  • ·         Crispness of body movements
  • ·         Keeping hands and nonverbal communication in the “bell bubble”
  • ·         Posture while standing or sitting
  • ·         Facial expressions or lack of them
  • ·         How the leader interacts when delivering a good or bad message
  • ·         How the leader interacts with good or bad questions
  • ·         If the leader makes the common mistakes of lying.

Reading the body language of leaders can help you to know what to do and not to do in front of the media or even in front of your office.

Body language of confidence through movement

People who are confident have a glide to their movements whereas they are not too jerky and not too rigid.  For the most part this ability to have movements that glide signifies comfort and in turn will allow those who are watching the leader to help see confidence in their message. Now the person who is the leader may have an ability to fake confidence somewhat and when this happens there will be a point where their guard drops and their weakness can be seen through. While you view them they will have a point where something may not seem right and it may just be a brief second where they make a facial expression or they lose their posture. The leader in a moment of weakness may even use his hands or part of his body to block a bad question.

Body language of hand movements for a leader

For a leader to have strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills they need to know what they can or cannot do with their hands and arms. It may seem silly to say that man or woman has to watch how far away their arms get from their body but a strong communicator knows that a person judging them will only give them one shot as to be seen as strong and a capable leader.  That is part of the price to pay to lead. Keeping hands close to the body but not too close will show through nonverbal communication that the leader has self-control. Self-control shows the person or the crowd that the leader has the attributes of someone who can spearhead an organization, country, group or any other place where needed.

Reading body language of a leaders posture

A leader when delivering their message has to have the right posture. The way that he or she stands or sits will show confidence or defeat. When a leader stands with confidence they will be completely upright and straight unless there is a medical condition or injury, their shoulders will be square and slightly rolled back. As they look out at their people, group or even congregation their chin will be up but no so far that they show arrogance. Throughout their interaction this posture will stay unless there is a moment of weakness that shows through.

The posture of the leader in question when the combination of posture, hand gesture and smoothness of body movements combine they may show through as a sort of charisma by the viewers of the leader.

Reading body language of the hands part 1

Reading body language: The hands are the first things that get away from the body when communicating.

There are times where your hands can be seen as passive or aggressive. Depending on what you want your body language to read may depend upon what position that you put your hands in.

You may see people hold their hands out like they are begging. Now this body language of the hands may be both passive or aggressive. If the person is a beggar it may be seen as aggressive. If the man or woman is asking for help it is passive. (as a side note the video says that hands out like a beggar is passive and that is partially correct).

If you have your hands facing downwards you may also find the body language of the hands to be passive or aggressive depending upon the situation. If you are sitting with clients in a business situation your hands may be seen as aggressive when placed wrong. You may seem like you are bored with the presentation or angry at the message. If your hands are folded the message may also be seen as passive.

If the movements are vigorous and or fast the hands facing down may be seen as aggressive. If the movements of the hands are slower than normal they may be seen as passive. The context of the situation along with the proximity is what is going to help determine what the body language that is being read means.

Understanding what your body language is projecting is important so that the person viewing and interpreting you actions are seen as congruent. If you are successful with sending the right message and signals you win in the  eyes of the viewer or viewers. When done wrong your body language can betray you and you may not even know it.

Sometimes in a business setting you can get your body language to say what you want by holding a pen in your hands while paying attention to the people you are working with. The pen keeps your hands in position that seems normal and allows you to project the right message.
